In Ara's debut role, she plays an innocent 15 year old middle-schooler who has a lot of spunk and charm. She is always true to herself and other so you can't help but love her. This drama depicts the growing pains of a regular teen who is learning the lessons of life.

Ara continues her role of Lee Ok-lim in the sequel, which depicts her high school career. Compared to her hot tempered and childish personality in middle school, she's matured now. Throughout high school, she learns about love, rivalry, friends and herself.

Chosen from 40,000 contestants for the role of Mistress Khulan, this is Ara's movie debut; this movie is also reported to be one of the most expensive movies Japan has ever made. Ara plays the unrestrained and independent second wife of Genghis Khan. She holds a special place in the Mongol Empire and in Genghis's heart.

Liz Park is a Korean American ballerina who is a star pupil at the famous American Ballet Theatre in New York. Liz runs away to Tokyo out of boredom from the tedious life as a ballet student when she sees Subaru as a worthy competitor to revitalize her waning enthusiasm for ballet.

The Showdown is set in 1615, where soldiers of Joseon are sent to China coerced by the Ming dynasty and fight for their lives. Hyeon-myeong, a Joseon general with a dangerous ambition (PARK Hee-soon, A Barefoot Dream), Do-yeong, son of a fallen noble family (JIN Goo, Mother), Du-su, a soldier who ran away from the field against orders (KOH Changseok, Secret Reunion) lead the story. Totally defeated in a fight with the Qing, they encounter each other at a tavern in Manchuria. As the Qing army continues to chase after them, they eventually become an unforgivable enemy to each other. Producer KIM Su-jin had explained when they were preparing this film that they had wanted to make this “as similar to a KUROSAWA or TARANTINO film as possible." The key to the plot is the ironical drama where "there is an enemy approaching from the outside while on the inside each of the three characters have their own reason to have be on guard against each other and there’s not knowing who will kill who." Hyeon-myeong and Do-yeong are from the noble class and become brothers during the battle. Yet soon they confront each other because of their varying ambitions and desire for power, and when Du-su who’s dragged to the army because he is poor, joins them the conflict only intensifies. The movie discusses their life stories, trauma, friendship, conspiracy, betrayal of friends during fight for power and enmity, and conflict of class.

Kimchi Wars is about Seong-chan, a cooking genius and advocate of tradition, who must compete against Jang-eun to make the best kimchi dish. Jin Gu follows in the footsteps of Kim Kang-woo and Kim Rae-won, who played the lead in the first film and TV series, respectively. "I felt pressured because the previous works were hits and both actors received favorable reviews as Seong-chan. But my worries disappeared once I saw the script, because it features more dramatic elements, such as Seong-chan's dark past. And I think my image works as a plus in that regard," said the 29-year-old, who is known for playing strong, moody characters, most notably his critically acclaimed supporting role in Bong Joon-ho's "Mother." He added that the film was a great pleasure to make since cooking is a hobby of his, though emulating a professional chef meant undergoing "200 hours of chopping radishes" in order to perfect the motion. After the filming he was able to make kimchi with his mother, which proved to be a memorable experience.

Do-joon is very good looking (he's played by Won Bin, after all), but he's not quite right in the head, rather like Song Gang-ho's character Gang-du in The Host, and like Gang-du, there is a hint that his impairment is his mother's fault. He's not retarded, but his dullness is difficult to define: he has no attention span to speak of and a poor memory; at twenty-seven he still sleeps with his mom, with a hand on her breast. He hangs around with Jin-tae (Jin Ku), who's also good-looking in a bad-boy way, and is a bad boy - a tough, cynical hustler who feels constrained by his small-town life and dreams of adventure. A college boy Su-min is looking around paintings in a gallery when he hears someone screaming for help. That's where he first meets a high school girl, Hyun-jin. They soon meet again in a park, and she realizes he is gifted; he can read people's mind. He doesn't want to be near her but somehow he happens to talk with her all the time, which makes him confused. They unexpectedly run into a kidnapping case and she is getting sure about his supernatural power. Hyun-jin tags after him, and tries him in many different ways to figure out his gift. He thinks she is so annoying and frustrating; however he finds strangely himself feeling something about her. As he is entangled in Hyun-jin's test, he ends up cleaning a restaurant to cover for expensive lobster dishes. Later on Su-min and Hyun-jin go to an amusement park with the money from Su-min's cleaning work and surely she never stops testing him even at the park. Since they see the kidnapping suspect by chance at the park, they get a step closer to real state of the kidnapping.

Chul-min is a simple truck driver transporting liquor, vegetables and other necessities. When his daughter is diagnosed with a congenital heart disease, he scrambles to borrow money from his friends to pay for for the operation but cannot raise the necessary amount. He follows a friend to a gambling house to raise the outstanding money, but luck deserts him and he loses everything. In a further bout of bad luck, he enters the wrong room in the gambling den only to witness a gang boss stabbing several victims to death in a murderous rage. After his friend begs for Chul-min's life, the gang boss sends him to a faraway province to dispose of the corpses.
Carrying the dead bodies in his truck, Chul-min listens to the radio for company on the nerve-racking journey. The news program is about extraordinary serial killer Young-ho who is under police escort to a mental asylum. As Chul-min passes a country lane, he spots a car that has fallen into the ditch. Inside, he finds the bodies of several murdered policemen. After some hesitation, he leaves to complete his duty to bury the corpses. However, a policeman unexpectedly flags his truck down and orders him to drive him to the exact province that he is heading to. As Chul-min unravels the real identity of his passenger, his nightmare really begins...

Epitaph, the debut film of the Jeong Brothers (Jeong Beom-sik and Jeong Sik -- "Jeong Brothers" is how they prefer to be listed in the credits), is a refined, intelligent and surprisingly effective Gothic horror. Well cast and acted, Epitaph is particularly notable for its close family resemblance to the slightly pale and artificial exquisiteness of certain Japanese genre films: it in fact can be favorably compared to the high-end Japanese adaptations of the willfully perverse but sparingly beautiful Edogawa Rampo mysteries (Tsukamoto Shinya's Gemini, Kawashima Toru's The Man Who Travels with Picture Relief). Epitaph has a convoluted (but currently fashionable) multiple flashbacks-and-time lag structure, but does not devolve into a confusing mess, which is a huge relief. The story is roughly divided into three segments. In the first, the young Jeong-nam/Masao (Jin Ku, who played Jo In-sung's young punk lieutenant in Dirty Carnival) finds himself attracted to a stunning-looking young girl's dead body, allegedly a victim of a failed double suicide.

Biography

Moon Chae Won was born on November 13th, 1986 in Daegu. Her family moved to Seoul when she was in the 6th grade. With an interest and love for art since childhood, Moon Chae Won went on to pursue a degree in Western Painting at Chugye, University for the Arts. After some exposure to acting - obtaining successful auditions for the SBS drama „Mackerel Run“ (2007; her debut role) and the film „My School's E.T.“ (2008) - she discovered her talent and passion for acting.

After one year of attendance at Chugye Univeristy, Moon Chae Won left her studies to pursue a career as an actress. Her love for art continues to inspire her, helping her to achieve meaning in her acting work and appreciate film-making as a valuable form of art.

Moon Chae Won joined her current entertainment agency, MS Team (formerly named Barunson Entertainment), in 2010.

In 2012 she was appointed as Honorary Prosecutor for South Korean prosecutors.

In the same year Moon Chae Won took the female leading role in the KBS drama „Nice Guy“ alongside with Song Joong Ki. Her successful career continued with the KBS drama „Good Doctor“ in 2013 – there she took the female leading role again next to Joo Won.

In 2014 she took the leading role in the short film „Awaiting“ and in 2015 she will return to the big screen starring next to Lee Seung Gi in „Today's Love“.

[08.2011] U-ie Discusses Her Role Model, Criticism and Graduating After School

U-ie had an hour long interview with the Daily Star. In it she talked about her role model, her drama roles and being a member of After School.

Currently in a "golden age" where there are a combination of active actors and singers U-ie is getting a lot of attention for her talents as an all around entertainer. When asked about role models U-ie quickly cited Uhm Jung-Hwa the singer and actress without any hesitation. U-ie stated that, "Uhm Jung-Hwa sunbaenim (senior) has a variety of images". Uhm Jung-Hwa has been able to have a long and successful career as both a singer and an actress and U-ie is hoping to follow in her footsteps. While U-ie spoke of Uhm Jung-Hwa her eyes shone and the reporter was able to see her sincerity and tell how big a fan she is.

Since working on the set of "Ojakgyo Brothers" U-ie has been receiving a lot of helpful tips from her seniors. Though it is "still very hard to accept criticism" it has helped U-ie become a better actress and made her stronger. U-ie revealed she feels a little pressure that her two dramas "Birdie Buddy" and "Ojakgyo Brothers" will be on television at the same time. But, since the two characters she plays have a "180-degree difference", U-ie is confident viewers will respond well to both shows.

Promoting with After School along with her individual activities takes a lot of time and energy.

When U-ie was asked if she would rather focus on her passion which is acting instead of singing she replied that being "on the stage it's just a happy pleasure I could not give up".

Even though After School has a "Graduation" concept when prompted U-ie firmly stated, "never want to" in regards to leaving the group. U-ie has a strong attachment to the group and revealed she had been offered a chance to be an actress being debuting in After School. U-ie lovingly said, "I was offered the chance to be an actress before my debut, I took the opportunity to be a member of After School". This chance to be in the group was seized by U-ie because she sincerely felt it was the right choice in her heart.

Since her debut in After School, U-ie has been working long and hard without a pause. When she was asked if she regretted not being able to fully experience life as a regular college student U-ie who attends Sungkyunkwan University replied that her studies are very important but she doesn't want to miss the opportunity of having a successful entertainment career.

Because of this she will attend college while still remaining active as a singer and actress though she recognizes she "still has a long way to go" and enthusiastically mentioned she wants to finish school in her twenties while laughing.

U-ie of K-pop girl band After School is starring in two TV dramas at the moment, as a university student who overcomes a sad family history in KBS weekend drama "Ojakgyo Family," and as a country girl who grows into a successful golfer in "Birdie Buddy" on cable channel tvN.

In an interview on Aug. 8, U-ie said, "I watched the first episode of 'Ojakgyo Family' with the script in hand to check for mistakes, and my acting left a lot to be desired compared to more senior actors." She in fact started out wanting to be an actress and went to a lot of auditions, but ended up making her debut as a singer first.

What does she think about criticism that she would not have won two starring roles simultaneously despite her inexperience if she had not been a member of a successful manufactured band? "I find the statement unfair. I didn't win the roles easily because of my body, or because I'm in a band. I practiced acting and golfing very hard for three months to pass the audition for the soaps."

U-ie of K-pop girl band After School is starring in two TV dramas at the moment, as a university student who overcomes a sad family history in KBS weekend drama "Ojakgyo Family," and as a country girl who grows into a successful golfer in "Birdie Buddy" on cable channel tvN.

In an interview on Aug. 8, U-ie said, "I watched the first episode of 'Ojakgyo Family' with the script in hand to check for mistakes, and my acting left a lot to be desired compared to more senior actors." She in fact started out wanting to be an actress and went to a lot of auditions, but ended up making her debut as a singer first.

What does she think about criticism that she would not have won two starring roles simultaneously despite her inexperience if she had not been a member of a successful manufactured band? "I find the statement unfair. I didn't win the roles easily because of my body, or because I'm in a band. I practiced acting and golfing very hard for three months to pass the audition for the soaps."

2012 Directing his debut film 'Sansevieria'

Yoo Ji-tae (b. April 13, 1976) in a very short time rose to become a major actor in Korean film. In the year 2000, with a series of hit films, widely-seen TV appearances, and a career in modeling, Yoo was more constantly in the limelight than any other actor.

His first brush with fame came in the role of "Paint" in his second feature, the 1999 hit Attack the Gas Station. His sensitive and artistic image in this film and the warm character he displayed as a guest on TV talk shows helped to propel him to stardom. With the surprise success of his third film Ditto in spring 2000, Yoo's star status was secured. He also appeared in the successful firefighting film Libera Me. In this early part of his career, he was known particularly for the wild colors that he would dye his hair (white in Attack the Gas Station, blue in Ditto, blonde in Libera Me).

As Yoo's career established itself he began to appear in many high-profile projects, such as in well-known arthouse director Hong Sang-soo's Woman is the Future of Man (which, like Old Boy, screened at Cannes in 2004); Yim Phil-sung's big-budget Antarctic Journal, shot in New Zealand; and the action/noir Running Wild with Kwon Sang-woo. As this is our 5th year (plus 2003/4) at soompi.com, we're setting up a website as a tribute to the international online fans who have continuously shared about Lee Byung Hun so unconditionally over these past years. Despite the setback, restrictions and heartaches along the way, EverythingLBH's ardent sharing never stops no matter what. Because EverythingLBH has never been officially affiliated with LBH, we don't know how Byunghun-ssi will feel about the website but many of us have been waiting since 5 years ago for an international LBH fan club and still waiting. However, we're not sure if we are able to wait another 5 years.. thus why we're doing this now while possible and it's done for the fans in mind. Realistically not going for anything fancy, or flashy nor high-tech trendy but something built from the heart and filling it up with pride being Lee Byung Hun fans we are & always will be.

Gratitude to taprokh for such diligent and consistent effort in setting up the site for us, right from scratch and making it fans-friendly first & foremost. We hope everyone will also feel the pride & love and no longer be reluctant or embarrassed being a part of EverythingLBH-soompi, now EverythingLBH.com as well. Coincidentally, due to the new soompi site-adjustment the "Everything' at the thread description have been dropped recently which seems like an indicator of some sort that could not have happened at a better time, huh.

Please understand that we only started with the idea end of July after BH's 40th birthday. In a way.. this is like our small gift for the 20th Anniversary.. better late than never, right? There are still really really really a lot to compile and share about LBH which we only have less than 40% posted but EverythingLBH will go on and on, like it always has -- here, where it all started. We could never thank everyone enough for all the unconditional sharing we had since 2003 and hope it will continue on for as long as possible.
